What do I need to supply for you to build a site?
Because you know your business and market best, your input is valuable to designing an effective site. Generally we supply you with a list of necessary items but we leave the amount of control in the design process up to you.

It will save you time and money if you have any of the following items:

  Text content
  Company logos or letterhead
  Quality photographs or images
  Brochures
  Previous print advertising material

If your business does not have the time or the resources, we can take care of all the content. This can include copy content, original photography, logo design and branding.

How long does it take to get my site online?
Websites vary enormously in content and complexity. The time involved to create them is a reflection of this.

It usually takes about 1-2 weeks for a small site with up to 5 pages.

For larger sites with interactivity, rich graphic content, flash animation, original photography or advanced scripting it can take 3 weeks or more.

A large e-commerce or database driven site will usually take 4 weeks or more.

Hosting and domain name registration only take a few days.

Do I need to have my own domain name?
While it isn't strictly necessary to have your own unique domain name (www.yourcompany.co.uk), we recommend that you do, since it is considered unprofessional to have a web address like www.hostname.co.uk/yourcompany.html

Domain name registration is included within our final price and does not need to be renewed for two years.

Having a domain name is a reasonable investment, considering you are buying a unique identifier, something that you can leverage to give you a marketing and branding edge.

A wisely chosen domain name can be a real business asset.

Which domain name should I get?
Deciding on a domain name is a very important decision because once you commit to it, your visitors will start bookmarking your page for when they visit in the future. Also remember that your domain name is also used when your new clients e-mail you.

Domain names must contain at least three alpha-numeric characters, and a TLD extension (eg. .com or .co.uk). Most companies choose to go with the name of the company as the domain name. If the company name is rather long or complicated to spell then a shortened version is usually perfectly acceptable.

After you have decided on your domain name you need to choose a TLD extension. We can help you with this and suggest the most suitable.

What other costs are involved?
Other costs include site promotion and regular editing and maintenance. You can do these yourself, but you have to balance the time and resources needed for these functions with the time and resources needed to service your offline customers.

How do people find my site?
Your pages must be built properly and they must be registered in various search engines and directories in order to have maximum exposure to the world. When we design a site, we carefully consider how to best maximize it's visibility to the search engines, crawlers, spiders and robots.

Remember though - search engines is only the internet side of advertising, make sure that your web site and e-mail address are detailed at every opportunity, such as company stationery, in any printed advertising or promotions you undertake, on company vehicles and by ensuring you and your staff tell clients and suppliers about your web site in meetings and discussions.

What about future changes to my site?
We can update your site for you. We can update existing sites that were originally created by us, and others designed elsewhere.

Updates could include changes to text, graphics, navigation systems, additional pages, e-commerce enabling and more - total rebuilds can also be provided for very competitive rates.

How do I access my e-mail that I get with my site?
Websites hosted through us can get their e-mail through Outlook Express, Eudora, or another e-mail client. All settings are provided in our welcome e-mail.

Although our hosting supports various e-mail clients, we only supply limited support in configuring your specific software. The process is very easy with most e-mail software, but we cannot be expected to know the finer details of every e-mail client available.

Alternatively, you can choose to login to the web-based e-mail site. This site works similar to Yahoo and Hotmail, so you can access your email from any Internet connected computer at any time.

We do provide support on any problems you have using web-based email.
